 The goal of dental hygiene is to help patients achieve and maintain oral health
Dental hygienists are licensed primary oral health care professionals, who provide some or all of the following special care:
- clinician
- oral health educator
- health promoter
- patient-consumer advocate
- administrator
- researcher.
Responsibilities of a dental hygienist include developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of care based on the patient's dental health needs.
