Dental Residency Program
Program Introduction and Description
The Advanced Education Residency in Pediatric Dentistry is a 2-year postgraduate certificate program designed to satisfy the educational requirements for advanced specialty education in Pediatric Dentistry as prescribed by the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Emphasis is placed on the development of those skills and qualifications necessary for the successful practice of pediatric dentistry to include, didactic, teaching and research fundamentals.
Clinical experience in comprehensive dental care involves both outpatient and inpatient pediatric care. Biomedical sciences as they relate to Pediatric Dentistry and Hospital medicine are presented throughout the two years of the program during lectures, seminars, clinics and rotations.
The staff of TUH/Episcopal Division and TUCMC, from departments of Surgery, Anesthesia, Pediatric Medicine and Emergency Medicine, participate in the educational experience.
