Teething Symptoms

The eruption of teeth is referred to as "teething" and can be associated with discomfort. The symptoms are slight fever, sore gums, restlessness, irritability and difficulty sleeping and eating. Signs of teething are an increase of saliva or drooling, pulling on the ears, and constant chewing on any available object.

Teething Tips

Discomfort can be eased by giving your baby frozen teething toys, cold or frozen foods such as bagels or carrots. The coldness will decrease the pain and inflammation and the hardness will hasten the eruption of the tooth.

To avoid choking accidents, never give your baby small frozen foods or foods that can easily break apart. Always supervise food teething.
